Poker and Game Theory Appear in the Famous Film ‘Crazy Rich Asians’

The new picture “Crazy Rich Asians” has dominated the box office, grossing upwards of 26 million dollars over the weekend and 35 million dollars in its first five days. Poker fans may be startled to learn that some features of the poker and game theory as a part in the new film.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the film is about “a Chinese-American NYU professor meets her boyfriend’s obscenely affluent family in Singapore.” Rachel Chu didn’t know her boyfriend Nick’s family was so affluent until the trip, and the tale centres around her efforts to get his mother’s favor.

The film is based on Kevin Kwan’s best-selling 2013 novel, which spawned two successful sequels. The film has become the first major Hollywood picture with an entirely Asian cast since “The Joy Luck Club” (1993).
